not knowing.

not knowing what i  what its the single most low, frustrating thing i have experienced about myself. makes me feel small, insignificant and desperate to seek out that silly answer i already know that got lost somewhere along the way between my mind and my mouth!

Ko Samui.

It’s  very peaceful, friendly yet still very interesting place( especially if you’re a gourmand). The first thing i’ve noticed were the dogs/street dogs. They are the friendliest, calmest street dogs i have ever seen. I didn’t hear a bark throughout my stay here. The food is good…heatlly if you want it to be or the antonym  of that if you don’t know a little or two about how they fry things.

Even thought i love it here i would not advice anyone to stay here for longer than a week! There are cooking classes at almost every resort, island tour, massages everyday and so on but other than that you just pretty much go to the beach, read your book and do nothing all day. After you can take your backpack and book a couple of islands tours of the nearby islands which are a lot more Eden-like then Samui. Now that it’s interesting! Snorkeling is great, everything is cheap and if you don’t think so you can bargain, in some areas they consider an insult not bargaining so you ought to do that.

Thailand has a very strong spiritual side and so this reflected upon you once you set food on this land. I must say i am a lot happier now, maybe it’s because i’m not stressed or entirely rested now, but there’s a huge difference. Overall besides being unable to hike among other sports due to an injured toe i loved it her!

we should all write down things we want to do. goals. places we’d like to visit. once they are written, they’ll be out there all day love/everyday so it’ll be as if you’re ignoring someone if you don’t get THERE.

and all those things that bring a shy, pure smile on our faces once we remember them.

Dalicious.

July 19, 2010

“Salvador is the only modern painter from whom the Lord God commissioned a work” , friend of Dalis once fantasized.

On 4th February 2009, 20 years later after Dali’s death and 20 years after the fall of Berlin wall, a permanent home of probably the most complex and polarizing artist of the last millennium has been open in a historic site in one of the most interesting and vibrant cities in the world Berlin. As soon as i landed, it was the first flyer that popped into my eyes, small but red – one of the artist most used colors Dali was watching me with his trademark charm and pout, his moustache pointed towards heaven, his eyes desperately seeking for inspiration.

Dali is one of the greatest artist that ever graced Earth with his presence  He staged his works and himself in the most spectacular manner. He illustrated his own life with the series ” After 50 years of Surrealism”, he, himself chose these illustrations as surely the most important stations of his life.

I find it amazing the throughout his life he changed his way of tickling the paper in so many ways and directions, yet you can still see his trademark moves curling into every single one of his works.

I begun to like Dali, because of works, then the flame died and i moved to Andy Warhol, partly because of his work, but then he also had an outstanding personality. I got bored with Warhol in the shake of a lambs tail and i was sort of falling in love with musicians. Then, i must admit i had a Robert Pattinson phase after seeing Remember Me i wanted to see more of his acting skill and so i discovered Little Ashes. Knowing some of Lorca’s works(okay just one or two plays) i decided that a story that had one of the greatest painters of the modern age, one of the greatest writers and Luis Bunuel( the movie director), i shall see this movie. It was profoundly moving and exquisitely made, the campus, the balcony, Gala – Dali’s female obsession they were extremely close to reality so i sincerely recommend this movie to anyone in love in Spain, Dali or Lorca or love stories. Pattinson impressed me in one particular scene where he’s bald and in desperate anger. I shivered to my bones. I would watch that scene over and over again. The movie captures Dali’s changing personality/personalities, his unusual way of being and the untold love story between him and Lorca, the difficulties of being gay in those times and fascist Spain.

Back to Dali – In all of his paintings you can find a big piece of him. The shadows  reflect his weakness, his fear of the unknown, his different personalities hidden behind those shadows. The catalan influences indicate his background( the skinny donkey – both him and Lorca used the donkey in their early works), the cruce gives him away as a christian. The colors he used were mostly green, light blue, red and the noncolour black and white of course. However in his late works red becomes orange..instead of maturing the color regenerates in its earlier stage so that could mean many…tbc

Singing is forbidden,

dancing is forbidden,

playing cards, playing chess, kite flying are forbidden

writing books, watching films and painting pictures are forbidden

Women – You will not laugh in public places, if you do you will be beaten

Girls are forbidden to attend school!

A thousand splendid sunshine. I’m grateful for my poor memory, it allows me to read loved books over and over again, and still get the surprise element.

I want all your opinions, thoughts or rumors you’ve heard about the pyramids. i know there’s only 10 people reading this  but still, its good enough. I have my own thought, but will not publish it so it wont carve your idea in any other way.

I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes. I’m out of control and at times a little hard to handle, but if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best –
